A Fixed Fred

Fred may resent me one day for this post, but it’s something I’ll want to look back on and rejoice over one day.  And, who knows?  These pictures may surface again in the future at a rehearsal dinner or something. :)

BandWe’ve known since Fred’s three month check-up that something just didn’t go right with his circumcision.  Sad, I know.  We did all the right things, and still, something wasn’t right.  So, at last, we made the decision to ahead and have a circumcision revision before he got any older.  Bless any child, teenager, or adult who has to undergo this little reconstructive surgery.  It’s not pleasant.

We’ve been really blessed not to have had any illnesses or fevers until now.  But after this, I think I gained a new compassion and sympathy for mommas with sick children!

SamAs if the surgery itself wasn’t a stab at his manhood (literally), they brought us a pink gown for the little fellow.  I know he was thinking, Mom, really, do you have to take pictures at a moment like this?

Toes We did lots of playing while waiting for the nurse to take him back.  Considering he hadn’t eaten anything since 6:00 the night before, he did wonderfully.

All in all, he did really well.  Waking up from the anesthesia was probably the hardest part, but after getting him calmed down, he was a snuggle bug.  It was the sweetest.

Thanks so much for the calls, emails, and suppers.  I think he’s going to be just fine---and will really thank us one day.

So glad he's fixed and that the procedure is behind you. Poor buddy. He is just too darn cute - even in his pink gown.

Poor Buddy! I work with two pediatric urologists up here in Charleston and they do several circumcision revisions each week! "Fred" is not alone. I think y'all made a good decision. Hope he continues to recover well.

Bless his precious little heart!! Even though they brought him the hospital gown with pink elephants (or is it dinosaurs??), I still think that picture is the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! He is just cute as a button, Em!! Glad you have "a fixed Fred." :)
