Well, hello, friends. Let’s welcome June with another random post.
1. My feet are so sunburnt, y’all. It looks like someone slapped them. I ran inside Publix barefoot yesterday, because shoes were not a bearable option. After a vinegar bath, today has been much better, but I’m liable to cover my feet with socks next time I go to the beach. They hurt like hello kitty.
2. We’re getting to reap the fruit of our Scott’s labor this week!
3. After all your encouraging comments, I started The Help last week. By the second paragraph of the first chapter, I was laughing out loud. That Abileen is a mess.
4. I went on my first spend-the-night-away-from-Sam trip this past weekend. A dear friend has a beach place in Orange Beach and graciously offered to take us girls down for a few days. It was LOADS of fun, but, whew, my heart sure did ache for my boys. I think it might be a little while before momma does anything solo again. The Bubbas were missed!
5. There has to be a hint of crack in Diet Dr. Pepper. Intervention is needed.
6. If my husband should ever move us out of Montgomery, I think I would beg suggest we move close to the beach. Fairhope, AL would be my pick. Just saying.
7. I splurged on a bottle of new lotion the other day. The last time I bought some good smellin’ lotion was the day before I got married. So, here’s how I reasoned it: the only hair product I use is off-brand shampoo, I paint my own toenails, and I bathe with Target bar soap. “I don’t think Scott will mind” is what I said to myself. It smells so, so good. No buyer’s remorse here.
8. This John Bunyan quote never gets old to me:
“Run, John, run, the Law commands
But gives us neither feet nor hands.
Far better news the Gospel brings:
It bids us fly and gives us wings.”
9. Does anyone know how long hydrangeas will live on the vine? I picked these off my bush the other day, and their petals are already beginning to brown around the edges. I guess I better get to picking?
Happy, happy Wednesday, everyone.

Miss you girl! Orange Beach sounds like loads of fun! I say the lotion is well deserved. Let's visit soon!!
OUCH! Lavender my friend! Buy yourself a little bottle of pure lavender essential oil at GNC or any other health/natural store. Dump it on your feet (yup, right on). It will help tremendously with sunburns and even more with burns from cooking, curling irons, etc - takes the pain right out and helps it heal faster! It seems expensive but it lasts forever. One of my favorite natural remedies!
