It’s never a good idea for me to sit down to blog without a certain topic in mind. But, alas, here I am, and though I should probably step away from the computer, a good ol’ numbered list never hurt anybody.
Go grab you a glass of sweet tea and put your feet up. This is going to be a big bunch of hodge podge.
1. Have you been keeping up with American Idol this season? Me, neither. But I did happen to hear that a fellow Auburnite---Paul McDonald---is moving right along and swooning J. Lo’s heart in the process. He may or may not have asked me on a date while sharing a table with me on the 3rd floor of the library my sophomore year of college. I thought he was kidding (which he probably was), so I kinda laughed and shook my head “no.” True story.
2. I think I’ve officially found my favorite Jon-Jon pattern for Sam. It’s called “Holly and Hunter” by Bonnie Blue. Easy. Square neck. Adjustable straps. Fitted armholes. I love it! What are your favorite summer patterns?
3. This past Sunday, one of our pastors preached a sermon entitled “You Are Not Under Law but Under Grace.” If you have a few spare minutes, I promise you won’t be disappointed. It was a life-changing sermon. Trust me, and listen here.
4. My baby walks for Dr. Pepper.
5. Scott and I decided three things yesterday: 1. We want to be brainwashed with the truths of scripture; 2. If the weather permits, we’re going to take the boat out on Saturday; 3. We need to be more content.
6. Along with the rest of America, I’ve been on a serious diet since January. Although not hugely noticeable, I’ve lost 31 pounds, BUT, y’all, I’m stuck. S-T-U-C-K. Like I’ve been doing the same things I’ve been doing since January, but for the past two weeks, I got nothing. Not even half a pound. Any tips or tricks up your sleeve? Maybe I need to drink more water? Maybe I need a Jillian in my life? I welcome your ideas.
7. Herman Cain or Ron Paul (or his boy) for President!
That’s all I got. Happy Tuesday!

Thirty one pounds?! Don't disappear! Paul is a sweet boy; we had physics together the same year you were asked on your date (and I am sure it was real!). And...I like your randomness.
This blog makes me so happy that I just got chills! :) Love you girl and so glad to have stumbled upon you again.
31 POUNDS!!!!! Share WHAT you are doing! Rock on! That is awesome!!!
First and foremost..I told Robert the other day that you looked AMAZING and that you had definately lost weight (not that I ever thought you looked bad to begin with) Way to go!!! Please share your diet secrets with me I will need to lost 31 lbs and then some once I have this kiddo! I say maybe you need to change up your workout routine??? I don't really know but a friend of mine is a trainer so I will ask him.
Second...Girl Paul McDonald?!?! How could you say no to that smile?!?! So stinking adorable love the true story though! Third not sure about the candidates listed but Robert really likes Rand Paul...really he even tried to name Huxley Rand :o) and lastly I too would walk around the world for some dr pepper. Way to go Sam!
I laughed so hard when I watched the walking video on facebook. You guys are awesome.
Drink water!! For my birthday I got the new brita filter water bottle. it has a filter inside it so you can get water whereever and drink good water!! I love it! I drink anywhere from 60-80oz of water a day. you will be amazed at how much better you will feel.
random posts are the best!
go Sam go!
and go Mama for losing 31 lbs!
how did you do it?
Fun post, Emily! I agree that anyone who doesn't go to Morningview or weren't there on Sunday should listen to Tom's sermon. And they should listen to the one from the week before too! :-) That is awesome about your 31 pounds! Woo hoo! I agree that you should share your secret, as I will also need to be losing 31+ pounds after August 10th! :-) (Well, hopefully I'll lose some of it when the baby comes, lol, but you get my point.) Lastly, I think that changing up your routine is the way to go, but don't take my word for it. If I remember correctly, your body gets used to what you're doing and at some point you stop losing the weight while doing the same thing. Are you doing any weight training? I've heard weight training works well mixed in with cardio.
*wasn't
I meant to put "wasn't there on Sunday" not "weren't there"... :-)
I can't stop laughing at the video - and I needed it today! Precious boy, great job!!
I love the random posts!
Hey girl! Just thinking about my days back at Curves. Depending on what your calorie count has been...you may actually need to increase your calorie intake. I know that sounds crazy but it will jump start your metabolism. On the curves weight management program you only eat 1200 calories the first week and then stay at 1500-1800 until you reach your goal weight and then bump up to 2000.
You wanna hear the weirdest, most random connection to Ron Paul?
My birthmother had a hysterectomy. Ron Paul was her gyn.
Ron Paul removed the womb in which I was incubated.
I know, I know, I am bound for greatness. ;)
