The Husband

Well, tomorrow marks three weeks of covenantal life with Scott, so I thought I'd share what I've learned about him thus far. We are both strange creatures of habit, that's for sure. I have chuckled to myself many times while brushing my teeth at the awkwardness and sweetness of the first weeks of marriage. This is really, really fun.

What I've learned about my husband:
1. Scott is passionate about Listerine. Head back, gargling kind of passionate. He is a two-minute swisher with no shame. Our life-size bottle of emerald green Listerine will not fit in the medicine cabinet above the sink, so it dwells on the bathroom counter. I'm okay with it, though. Fresh breath is good for newlyweds.

2. I come inches away from falling off the bed most every night because Scott is a big time cuddler. I really love this about him and hope it doesn't wear off when the newness fades.

3. On a serious note, Scott has the most forgiving spirit of anyone I know (other than our Creator, of course). Obviously, I knew this before marrying him, but it's been especially evident living under the same roof with him. I have exposed my emotionally-driven, fleshly self on an occassion or two (or three or four...), and it never fails: his grace on me swells everytime. Christ and the Church in real life. Pretty amazing.

That's all for now, but I know the list will expand. We are putting in a new door this weekend, and I'm thinking this endeavor is sure to bring another enlightenment.

Happy Friday!
